Perfect World
What? You have a different favorite color than I do? We
can’t be friends. In fact, I never want to see your face again until you admit
that my favorite color is infinitely better than yours.
I’m right about everything. Why don’t people see that?
Man, I wish there were a world where everyone was exactly like me: the same
thoughts, opinions, reactions, ideas, etc. Wow, how amazing does that sound?
We would all live on the beach. Probably in Hawaii. The
world as we know it now would be completely foreign compared to the World of
Jennas. Money? Psh naaah. Responsibilities? Hah! And what even is "time"??
What a peaceful place this world would be. We would
all live in harmony. There would be no disagreements!
People whose favorite color is purple can be my chefs.
And maids. Yes, they’ll have nothing better to do anyways. Purple is such an
ugly color. They must be ugly people.
Man, I can see this perfect world so clearly in my
head- surfing all day, jamming all night…
Ok, well. The more I think about it, the more I’m not
sure... I lied about the no disagreements part. I get internal arguments… they
would all turn external in my world. I think I would also get kind of lonely.
The only person I can talk to is basically another me… I’d be trapped in an
environment equivalent to my mind. I’d be trapped in my own mind. This world is
starting to sound like a horror movie setting rather than a euphoria…
Ok. I guess we can be friends. Actually, please be my
friend. The world would be bland with only one color.
I like the development of your internal conflict throughout the post. Your thoughts really showed growth and became dynamic as you continuously questioned yourself. Your voice continues to show throughout your blogs and its tone really pulls the reader in.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I think you transitioned from explaining your world to why it wouldn't work very well, and the connection back to the color concept really connected your piece. I love how you mentioned that your internal arguments would turn external; I though that was very interesting. I did feel like the purple part was low-key shading me though... hahaha
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are always so enjoyable to read. I love how you can easily change your style to fit a certain type of personality. Excited to read your next blog!
ReplyDeleteWow...I kind of feel like this is a simpler, more innocent way of looking at HItler's viewpoint? I can see the whole diversity-is-better thing with the colors. Really cool perspective
ReplyDeleteOkay, not Hitler, but racist people in general
DeleteNo, you're right! That was the point of the blog :P
